Lately, I’ve been working on expanding my portfolio to include landscape photos of more of the surrounding area. I’ve got several for Bryce Canyon but there’s so many other beautiful landscape scenes nearby which I really want to add in. Well, I got a good start on that goal a few days ago with an evening red cliffs glow.
One of the local area attractions happens to be Cedar Breaks National Monument. So, I recently went there to check it out for myself. I realized that I needed to add this landscape to my portfolio. I had my opportunity to take photos of the area from a different point of view than normally seen. It was interesting for sure. Then I learned that this isn’t actually the monument itself.
I thought that getting a full view of the red cliffs requires driving down a curvy and winding road. Instead I found some other similar but smaller red cliffs bathed in an evening glow. Many people don’t look up and see the view in front of them. I’m glad I looked up.
On the way down the road, we noticed a scenic overlook turnout, overlooking a beautiful landscape scene, which we made a point of returning to on the way back. As we came back during golden hour, I made a point of pulling out my camera to capture the scenes I had found. They were both amazing views and the light was just right.
It was a great trip to catch golden hour light at some new landscape locations. I was also glad to add some new photos to my portfolio and share them for you to enjoy. What do you think of these photos? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
