The time is come and gone again. Last month was the Panguitch Hot Air Balloon festival (also known as Balloonfest). I managed to sneak out and get some more photos. This year, I was trying for a bit different photos from last year. I got more hot air balloons with some different balloons in frame. Check them out.
This year, the weather was partially cloudy. This made for some much more interesting skies from last year’s straight blue clear skies. There was plenty of clouds to light up behind the balloons and make things interesting.
Rather than trying for large groups of balloons in the sky or on the ground, I also started working on singling out some of the balloons in frame. It makes for some interesting and even heavenly looking photos of hot air balloons with the clouds we had in the sky. The softer light and clouds really made these kinds of shots possible this year.
It was another great show for the hot air balloons and I captured some great photos out of the experience. I’m already looking forward to next year’s parade of colors in the sky for some more fine art style photographs of this hobbyist mode of transportation.
I took some time to try and get some more wider landscape shots with the balloons against the surrounding mountains and trees. Sometimes I got houses in the frame as well.
