The day had come. The day long predicted. It was time for the super blood moon. This meant that I was dragging out my camera again and jumping into the car for another photo shoot. I had hopes of taking some amazing moon shots but, as usual, there were other opportunities for me. Check out this sunset magic instead.
While I was waiting for the moon to rise in the middle of the eclipse, I made sure that I took a look around me. We were out at the Teton mountains again so I knew there were other photos to be had if I looked.
Since the sky was full of clouds, I noticed that the sun was lighting them up beautifully as time passed. Some of those clouds were dramatic so I paused in my wait for the moon and hauled my camera off the tripod. I did not regret that decision either.
Light and shadow were my friends that day. With the ground in complete silhouette, the clouds really lit up with the fading sunlight.
While the moon-watching crowd was setting up their equipment and visiting, I made sure that I took photos of the sunset just in case. As it turns out, I’m really glad that I did. My moon photos weren’t anything special but these sunset cloudscape shots were well worth the trip. What a magical sunset!
I hope you enjoy the magic of these beautiful sunset photos. I know I do. Share your thoughts in the comments section below. I’d love to know what you think of them.
