Hello again landscape photography fans. I, once again, have good news for you. Another one of my landscape photos received an award. I’ve featured “Thor and the Warriors Three” so much that it’s nice to show off another of my photos with the same subject matter. After all, I do have a few different takes on the Thor’s Hammer hoodoo. This photo, titled “Are You Worthy?”, is another take on the famous Thor’s Hammer hoodoo of Bryce Canyon National Park. So, I’ll share the usual details with you.
Let’s start with the usual information. I received an email a couple days ago with the announcement. The frequency seems to be increasing so I like that. The email announcement contained the following quick language to explain the reason for contacting me.
Hi cramerimaging,
Your creativity is inspiring and your photo “Are You Worthy?” was selected to receive a new award.
Since I recently uploaded that one to the site, I was pleased with this news. I wanted more information about the award so I obviously clicked on the link. Up came a page with the following description.
Congratulations cramerimaging! This is pretty cool, from all your photos this shot has been selected to receive the Gem Award recognition. Thank you for sharing your creativity with all of us.
This awards celebrates you, your participation, and your creativity. This photo is the latest one you’ve shared with the community, it is full of creativity and insight. It may not seem like a big deal to you, but it is. You inspire our team and other members with every action you take in the community. We all know the feeling of creativity drain during these times; this photo is a reminder to never stop being creative. Thank you!
I laughed when I read this. It reminded me of yet another take on Thor’s Hammer where I received the “Jewel Award” from Viewbug. They seemingly like my versions of that famous chunk of rock. They grant interesting awards to them such as “Gem” and “Jewel” among others much less overtly treasure-related in their names.
This particular photo happened in preparation for another which I hope will shortly join my awarded collection on Viewbug. I wanted a shot with a star-bursting sun rising behind the rock. The sky was interesting and warming up that morning just after Bryce reopened from lock-down. So, I chanced the shot. I had nothing to lose. As it turned out, I found myself rewarded for the chance I took with this beautiful landscape photo.
So, what do you think of this photo and its new award? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Does it deserve the award it just received? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
