There are a couple of times of year when I expect to see dramatic skies reliably. One window is during autumn or fall. The other is during springtime. Thankfully, springtime dramatic skies are prevalent. I took the opportunity to shoot some landscape photos. Here’s what I captured.
I found myself revisiting a couple of subjects which I’ve shot before. Sometimes, old reliable subjects are reliable for a good reason. So I revisited the agricultural shot of a farm field along with a rock formation which featured prominently in my last astrophotography shot.
I find what’s new here for me is the interesting backdrop of the colored cliffs and mountains. This area of the country features many different interesting and beautifully rugged rock formations. I love adding as many of those to my landscape photos as I can.
As for the other shot, I wanted a daytime photo of the formation. I had a nighttime shot already. Springtime dramatic skies were a bonus. I capitalized on the opportunity and created this landscape photo.
I enjoyed getting back out there and adding to my landscape photography portfolio along with expanding the spring portion of it. It felt good. So what do you think of these newest portfolio additions? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
