As much as I visit Bryce Canyon National Park, there are still many places I haven’t photographed yet.  Believe it or not.  There’s always something new for me, even if it’s just the light and weather conditions.  I recently took time to visit more neglected parts of the park on my part.  Of course, I brought my camera along with me.  That’s where I ran into some dancing golden light which I simply had to capture.

I made a few trips recently, but these trips were all in a very close window of time, so I decided to combine them together for simplicity’s sake.  It makes things easier on me, so why not?

The first highlight took me back to Sunset Point.  There, I found what appeared to be the beginnings of a glorious sunset with pink clouds to frame things.  It didn’t quite turn out that way, but the edges of the clouds still lit up with the setting sun.

I took notice of a small sapling Bristlecone pine tree which is growing on the rim of the canyon.  Since clouds were behind it, the tree seemed a perfect practice subject.  Maybe even a serious subject to photograph.  It ended up being the second option as my landscape photos of that tree resulted in what you see here.  Nature really does find a way to live in interesting places.

The next, and last, highlight for this episode comes from an early morning trip into the depths of Bryce Canyon’s southern scenic drive.  I haven’t yet added the quality of landscape photos I want from this portion of the park.  Well, I started making changes there with this very photo.

This was a last-minute shot on my part.  I wanted another view.  That didn’t work out as planned.  However, since I was in the area, I decided to try out Yovimpa Point.  It’s a quick brisk walk from my planned shoot location, so I went.  When I arrived, the morning light was indeed dancing across the scene in golden beams.  I saw this view lit up in ways I’d never seen it before.  Good thing I brought my camera with me.

The early morning was rough, but worth it with landscape photography like this.  Dancing golden light, be it at sunrise or sunset, is always a beautiful thing.  I’ll be ready to capture it as often as possible.  So, what do you think of these new portfolio additions?  Was there indeed dancing golden light in them?  Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
