Announcements of photography awards are always welcome in my inbox.  I do enjoy learning that one or more of my photos has received a little love from the community at large.  This past week was no different.  Check out my latest hot air balloon photo award.

I never do expect when these announcements will show up as they can be sporadic.  However, I make a point of letting all of you know when such good news comes.  I also include everything I can to help you understand the honor bestowed.

This time, Viewbug selected another one of my hot air balloon photos from last year’s Panguitch Balloon-fest for an award.  I’m always surprised when they do this but I still enjoy it as well.

What a surprise I received when I learned which hot air balloon photo they selected.  I didn’t feel that it’s one of my stronger photos from the series.  However, the award is great.

Here’s what the description of the award is on the page announcing the award to me:

The Celebrity Award is given to your photo that has recently received the highest appreciation.  This is huge, moral of the story is that your photography is unique and creative, keep up the good work. Thank you for inspiring all of us.

I don’t know what a “Celebrity Award” means in this context.  However, as they also indicate they base the criteria upon “likes, awards, emotions, views, and time spent on your photos,” I’m still in the dark a bit.  But I don’t mind.  This photo has very low stats just like the last one.  Still, I’ll take the award without complaint.
