Are you ready for some good news? I know I am. So, here goes. I received another award for one of my landscape photos! This time, we have a new landscape photo to add to the list. It features the famous hoodoo of Bryce Canyon named “Thor’s Hammer.” Keep reading here to learn more about this photo and the award it received.
As is standard procedure, I received an email in my inbox announcing the award. Since I’ve received more of these lately, I wasn’t too surprised. However, this was a bit different. I don’t often place in Viewbug challenges (mini contests). But this time I did. So, here’s the email contents, as is traditional.
Congratulations : )

I clicked on the link and expected to find a dedicated announcement page. That was not the case. So I can’t give you more of a quote. However, I can give you the brief description of what the contest required.
Share your best photos showing Your best photograph of a National Park Landmark.
The rest of the contest description detailed what the winner and popular vote receive. So I won’t include that here. Instead, I’ll show you the screen which I found displayed on the contest page announcing the winners.
There are national park landmarks a plenty. I saw several I recognized in the entries. I decided that my photo of Thor’s Hammer titled “Thor and the Warriors Three” was the perfect entry for this contest. It turns out I was really right about that.
I took this photo as part of learning where this hoodoo was. You don’t often get a shot like this where the clouds veil the sun during the day. Lighting conditions were just right and there were interesting clouds in the sky too.
Well, what do you think of this new landscape photography award? Do you think this photo deserves the popular vote it received? Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
