It’s time for another behind-these scenes entry.  I’ve got 1 ready for you.  This time, we’re going behind-the-scenes with a photo I titled “Presiding.”  It features 3 famous mountains and a river.  Learn more about how I captured that shot by reading more here.

These mountains make up a trio called the Patriarchs.  They are part of Zion National Park in southern Utah.  Their names are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob respectively.  I haven’t yet memorized which name is associated with which peak.  So, sorry.  I can’t tell you for sure which mountains are in the photo and which is missing.  Perhaps you know.  Leave your answers in the comments section below if you do.  I might update this article if I learn the mountains’ names for sure.

Once again, this excursion came to me because of an interesting internet photo I saw.  I seemingly take too much inspiration from internet photos.  However, such thinking and planning does often lead me to other perfectly good vantages and vistas.

Being a part of the scenic drive, the Patriarchs are in a north-south canyon only accessible by shuttle during peak season.  It’s a long hike out back to the car in the visitors’ center parking lot.  So, I didn’t want to be caught out too late.  My camera phone, at the time, makes things look much darker than they really were that evening.  Still, you get the idea that this canyon gets dark quickly.

It’s a very short clip from the night, but you can still see what things looked like behind-the-scenes when I shot the following landscape photo titled “Presiding.”  You can read more about my experience photographing this area in this article.  Here’s how my landscape photo turned out that day.

This is probably the worst example of a bts video which I kept.  Others in the series will be much better.  I’ll get to the point where I routinely include some narration.  But this just isn’t that example.

So, now I turn things over to you. What do you think of this photo titled “Presiding” now that you can see the bts video?  Does it add something to the picture for you?  Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
