Every so often, I find that I have the opportunity to share back-to-back good news. Last week, I shared the news of another landscape photo receiving an award from Viewbug. Little did I anticipate that this would be another such time. Well, it was. Once again, an email arrived in my inbox telling me of yet another landscape photo receiving an award. This time was different, however. The announcement was that “Ice Castle” received a contest finalist award. Keep reading to dig in a bit deeper on this award.
Tradition dictates that I share the contents of the announcement email. So, here they are. They are indeed short and sweet.
Congratulations : )
Hi cramerimaging,
Your photo is a finalist in the Wonderful Water Photo Contest.
As I routinely enter contests on the Viewbug website, I double checked which photo the email referred to by clicking on the link. It took me to the dedicated page of Ice Castle. I’d seen it many times. However, this time, Viewbug added the note of contest finalist in the Wonderful Water contest to my landscape photo “Ice Castle” under the awards heading.
Here’s the description of the contest. I’m not sure, but they may have changed the name of the contest partway through as the title given above does not match the title given in the description. No matter, it’s still the same contest. I felt that “Ice Castle” met those requirements very well so I entered it. Apparently the judges agreed with me.
Dive into the world of water and show us how it sparkles, reflects, and ripples in all its colorful glory. Join our ‘The Colors of Water’ photo contest, and let’s make a splash with your creativity, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and celebrate the beauty that surrounds us all!
As Viewbug published the list of finalists already, I went to that article to double check that my photo was indeed on the list. It does indeed appear on the list.
This is the first contest finalist which “Ice Castle” received. As it’s received several Viewbug awards and a couple challenge (mini contest) placements, it’s nice that it finally received recognition in a full contest.
So, now I turn things over to you reader. What do you think of “Ice Castle” and it’s new award of a contest finalist? Do you love it? Do you hate it? Does it deserve the award it just received? Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
